last moments…. of a wonderful life…

Picture this…..

An old man with signs of a slight paunch, a respectable face and kind eyes behind sophisticated glasses. He sits there by the side of a beautiful lake, on the wet grass spotted with beautiful flowers. Butterflies hover around with an air of wonderful silence as he looks at the pink sun that threatens to set.
Wishing for the day to last just a little longer, he adoringly looks at the lady who has spent a lifetime with him lying down on his lap. His love for most of his life, who he had always and yet not ever. Time has taken its toll and the soft wrinkles on her face each tell a story.
Yet to him she is always adorable and he never tires telling her “she is the most beautiful girl in his eyes”. She rests where she belongs reading a nice little book that this bloke wrote years back. Each page leafed a hundred times atleast and yet she never tires. He says “talk to me sweetheart, we don’t have enough time”
She puts the book down, gives him her breathtaking smile as she says “its a lovely book, its been you to me when you were not around”
